I agree with some of the other posters.  Depending on what you want, the big brand may not be the correct decision to make.  A careful examination of quality, price, and end use application should be the drivers.  When I was looking for a 32 in. HDTV for my living room, (I’ll tell you now I went with the Sony…

Obviously he is not a videophile. Look at the projector location and arrangement on his website. That looks like a great setup for the rowdy organ music I like to listen to.

Rachel, the Mercury News certainly does make it sound like a price cut, but at the actual press conference Jack Tretton described it as increasing the size of the hard disk in the 40 gig model to 80 gig. It’s a confusing announcement to be sure, because Tretton never mentioned the existing 80 gig one way or another at the…

NY Times also mentioned that future Bravia’s would have the ability to receive the stream built into them. Which I think is a pretty interesting reveal, given that Sony *just* announced its Video Download service for the PS3. Like the Amazon service, it has a web front end. It really illustrates Sony’s schizophrenic nature that it is, in a way,…

It seems that a lot of people are pushing it as a “price cut.” I guess because to the average person… that’s what it looks like. Very interesting though, guys. Thanks for the extra info.

The PS3 didn’t get a price cut.  They added 40gb to the current 40gb model.  The current 80gb model has some backwards compatability, but the 40 is very limited.  Trumpeting this as a price “drop” is highly inaccurate; they reduced the equipment levels compared to the 80gb, so really they aren’t dropping the price of the ps3, they are removing…

Well, technically what they’re doing is bumping up the size of the hard drive for the 40 gig version (to 80 gig) and dropping the current 80 gig version, from what I understand. This means the “new” 80 gig version will have no backwards compatibility, which is either a huge or an insignificant change, depending on what side of the…

that certainly is an enormous woofer, and i’m sure the sound is a real experience, but OMG that room is a train wreck esthetically speaking.

Gimme wireless, (if it works!). The old ball and chain (wife) hates wires. So, if I have wireless toys, I can get more of them!!!!
