While passive glasses potentially will do better than active in terms of flicker (there’s nothing moving to cause the flicker), active systems will necessarily look better because they allow full resolution. The only passive 3D system to show full 1080p resolution is LG’s 4K TV which hasn’t shipped yet.

Interesting article, and as a Client’s Consultant in the UK I have similar findings.
More specifically getting CI’s to program touchscreens in a user friendly (and non-techy) way, and most importantly providing the client with complete “as installed” documentation and copies of the programs, in case they aren’t around in the future, is sadly often still difficult.

Both my sons have them hooked up to their Mitsu 65” projector TV’s my oldest got his Connect when it first came out. I have messed around with it and seen some of the hacks people have done. I had wondered, when I saw the new voice command updates, when they were going to make it capable of a totally…

I think it’s interesting the top three “Must Change” topics in this forum refer to the actual glasses themselves. One of my pet peeves with 3D viewing is the need to put those stupid glasses on every time you watch. How long until the glasses aren’t needed anymore? Is 3D a passing phase, as it was in the 80’s?? I,…

Until they ditch active shutter glasses for passive 3D which looks 10x better and is easier on the eyes, these Panny sets will not be favorable to consumers.

Hi Bob,
Your incorrect assumption was the “smart enough to earn that kind of money” part. For example Paris Hilton, the entire cast of Jersey Shore, and most hip hop ‘stars’ probably have the money, and would buy it because someone told them they were the best speakers money could buy.
I agree with your sentiment however!

Wait, so what is this? It projects images onto the home’s walls instead of a screen? How is it different than any other projector? (I assume it is, but some additional info would be very helpful.)

What strange mix of genius and stupidity would allow someone to be smart enough to earn that kind of money, yet stupid enough to spend 100k on a pair of speakers?
