Article had pretty basic & ho-hum stuff. Lets get more complicated! I’d like to have these answered: Speakers each normally have two terminals, I’ll designate them as Black and Yellow, and the black has a + sign and the yellow a - sign. An Amp has 7 pair of terminals, each pair being one Black and one Yellow, labeled Front…

Fun list. Great combination of high end and entry level speakers. I’m in the market for low-mid priced speakers (ie. $8-12000). Not sure if I want to buy just the best front speakers I can affort with that or spend the wad on a complete surround package. Of course, the second option would (may) compromise the stereo quality a bit…

Not one mention of Blu-ray or HD-DVD? Your prediction misses a major push of 2007—judder-free playback of film sources. Look for consumer displays from all major manufacturers to accept 1080p24 input for output at 1080p48, 1080p72, 1080p96, or 1080p120. Look for this feature in 2007 models from Samsung, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Pioneer, Panasonic, and Sharp, among others. Another trend to expect…

Gary, don’t be an idiot. Bill Gates and Microsoft don’t own HD-DVD. They support it because there are less restrictions on the format that were specifically created to hurt the consumer. Sony is pushing Blue-Ray because they have part ownership of the format….Keep your child like hatred of Bill Gates from corrupting your ignorant view point.

I bought my wife an Apple iPod Shuffle, this is the new version of the Shuffle with the built in clip. At around $80.00 plus an iTunes gift card it made the perfect gift. Its easy clip on light weight features are perfect for the gym or jogging. She loves it and I get out of having to buy her…

My husband knows how much I hate having a tasty drink go warm, so he got me the Cool IT Chiller. It’s sort of goofy, yet so useful. The device hooks through my computer’s USB port to keep drinks cold. I’ll never have to endure a sweaty summer beverage again!

I got a 30GB iPod, to replace my first generation 10GB whose battery no longer held a charge. Now not only can I listen to my music anywhere (ie not have to have it plugged in for power) I can also share photos and watch movies! Though that screen is awful tiny for watching movies. :-)

I received nothing electronic, but we did give my 8-year-old son a deer hunting game that plugs directly into the TV—not terribly sophisticated, but still fun. What really threw me was the disclaimer that popped up on the screen “product will not work with plasma TVs, LCD TVs or rear-projection sets.” Thank goodness the Montgomery’s still own an old-fashioned direct-view…

My nieces and nephews loved their remote-controllable fart machines. “Press the remote button and set off one of 15 different fart sounds from up to 100 feet away!” Who wouldn’t love such a gift? Parents, for one. This is the perfect gift for the kiddies if you’re somebody else, like an aunt, grandparent, or babysitter. I bought a 6-pack on…
