Best Buy Launches Digital Music Store

There are so many music download applications out there, I can barely see the picture of my dog on my desktop. Now Reuters says that Best Buy wants to add their icon to my computer clutter.

Today the retail giant launched its own download service, and I have to hand it to them -- they certainly know how to buddy up to the right partners -- RealNetworks and Sandisk.

The service will be powered by Rhapsody 4.0, and they'll "suggest" that you stuff that music into a SanDisk Sansa e200R player. Isn't it nice how things work out like that?

Pricing is same old, same old, with songs running 99 cents per track or $14.99 for an unlimited monthly fee.

The music store and the player will be available starting October 15. -- Rachel Cericola
