Denon: Upconvert your DVDs to 1080p

The future is now -- at least when it comes to home entertainment. Rather than wait around for the whole Blu-ray/HD DVD situation to get worked out, Denon's new DVD player line allows you to upscale your existing DVD collection to 1080p resolution, perfect for future-proofing those old "Seinfeld" episodes and putting that new HDTV to the test.

All it takes is a 1080p-compatible HDTV, an HDMI connection, and a SACD/DVD-Audio output. Denon's DVD-3930CI, DVD-2930CI, and DVD-1930CI models will handle the rest, upconverting your standard resolution files to 1080p. What are the technical differences of each unit? Audioholics.com has full reviews and spec breakdowns for the entire line.

As opposed to Denon's higher-end players, the new models are somewhat more moderately priced, ranging from $369 to $1,499, but they don't sacrifice much in the style and performance departments. According to Denon, the DVD-3930CI and DVD-2930CI are available now, and the DVD-1930CI will be available in August. -- Tim Sprinkle
