Thin iPod Sound from Altec Lansing iM500

Altec Lansing's iM500 Portable Audio System equips the iPod Nano with a thin speaker and docking station. Oh sure, there are plenty of iPod speaker/dock options out there, but this latest model differentiates itself with a slim size (.67 inches thin, according to Altec Lansing's site), and it also folds flat, which comes in handy when you want to take your music on the road.

Spec-wise, the iM500 has two full-range drivers, bass enhancement and it can play off AC or battery power (six AAA batteries will get you more than seven hours of play time). The station also charges and syncs the iPod Nano while it's docked.

Are you Nano-less? The iM500 plays nice with other MP3 players and external devices through its auxiliary jack.
