Gather up your remotes, gadgets and other electronic gear: You’re going to need some of their batteries. Zensys is working on a new chip that will allow for wireless home control powered by those Duracells and Energizers.

The real boon will be lower costs and reduced power consumption—and, of course, the lack of having to hardwire everything.

Supposedly they are looking into powering motorized blinds, door locks and smoke detectors. However, expect to see the savings passed on to things like lighting, HVAC and entertainment as well.
