Yamaha is hitching its wagon to the iPad—or at least its new micro stereo systems. The company just announced a pair of three-piece micro-systems that can both dock and charge the iPad.

As part of the company’s PianoCraft series, the MCR-332 and MCR-232 each boast full-size sound from any audio source.

Both systems have an iPod/iPhone docking station, as well as a top-mounted USB port for that iPad or other external USB devices. For when you don’t want to do the digital thing, each system also features the CRX-332 CD/receiver. The CRX-332 is also sold separately for $299.95 (MSRP).

Both the MCR-332 and MCR-232 have 2-way bass reflex speakers. To reduce vibration-related distortion, those deep cabinets are supported by three legs and include proprietary Vibration Control Cabinet Structure (VCCS) technology. Other features include a subwoofer port, AUX-in terminals, and large screw-type speaker terminals. The MCR-332 also adds in banana clip connections.

“Our customers’ interest in high-quality, 2-channel stereo sound has returned in a big way, and these new models are designed for anyone who wants to really enjoy the highest quality audio from a personal-sized, easy-to-use system,” said Tom Sumner, Yamaha’s president. “In keeping with the high standards of our PianoCraft micro component system series, we have once again exceeded consumers’ expectations for sound quality and beautiful design in this category.”

Available now in a piano-like finish, both systems come packaged with a remote control. The MCR-332 has an MSRP of $399.95, with the MCR-232 priced at $349.95.
