Late last year, Yamaha debuted the A-S3000 amplifier and the CD-S3000 CD/SACD player to the audiophile crowd, right before CEDIA. Now, the company is hoping to recapture some of that magic, but at a slightly lower price. The A-S2100 integrated amplifier and the CD-S2100 CD/SACD player will start shipping to stereo enthusiasts sometime this month.

The stereo(160 W + 160 W) A-S2100 promises reduced noise and the elimination of signal transmission loss via a floating and balanced design with MOSFETs. Other features include an EI transformer, four large capacity carbon sheath capacitors, and a left-right symmetrical design with the power supply in the center and the power amp blocks on the ends. The latter boasts better two-channel reproduction.

The CD-S2100 has a built-in USB DAC and 32-bit ES9016 from ESS Technology, as well as vibration control and an optimized high-precision rigid CD mechanism.

“Audiophiles do not want to simply hear the music—they want to feel it in its most natural sense,” said Bob Goedken, general manager, Yamaha Corporation of America’s AV Division. “The A-S2100 and CD-S2100 have been built-by-ear and rigorously evaluated to deliver the ultimate music experiences that will engage, excite and transport listeners.”

Available in black or silver, the A-S2100 and CD-S2100 will sell for $3,999.95 and MSRP $3,499.95, respectively.
