Yamaha is adding on to its acclaimed Aventage line. The company has announced two AV receivers for its 2013 lineup, with the first one coming sometime this month.
Both the RX-A830 (pictured) and the RX-A730 include sought-after features, such as Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) and AirPlay, as well as options for WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity (via optional accessories). That type of connectivity allows users to stream Rhapsody, Pandora and thousands of web radio stations.
Each 7.2-channel receiver also features support for Yamaha’s AV Controller App, Anti-Resonance Technology (A.R.T.), playback of full HD video (up to 1080p), and a front-panel USB port. Both models also have YPAO Reflected Sound Control (R.S.C.) sound optimization, with the RX-A830 widening up that sweet spot via multi-point measurement for up to eight locations. Other audio perks include preset SCENE choices, Dialogue Lift, Yamaha’s proprietary CINEMA DSP 3D, Silent Cinema for late-night listening, and support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Digital Plus, and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio.
A few other distinguishing features include powered Zone 2, Party Mode and Zone B dual HDMI outputs for the RX-A830, with the RX-A730 packing in independent Zone 2 operation.
Each model also has HDMI 1.4a with 3D, Audio Channel Return, analog-to-HDMI 4K/1080p video upscaling, the option to add in third-party home automation systems, and both IR and network control. The RX-A830 also has an RS-232C interface.
Yahama will ship the RX-A730 in April, with a $699.95 MSRP. The RX-A830 will be an exclusive for Yamaha AV dealers, and will arrive sometime in May for $899.95.
