If you’re scrambling for more 3D content, Yabazam wants to give it to you—assuming you have a Samsung 3D TV. The streaming service just started rolling out on select Samsung 3D TVs this week.
Yabazam first launched on LG 3D TVs back in January. The subscription-based service delivers unlimited viewing of original 3D programming. So it looks like you won’t get Avatar, Toy Story 3 or anything like that.
Right now, the service includes independent movies, documentaries, music videos and animated features. According to Yabazam, the company also adds new content on a weekly basis.
The Yabazam service is available through Samsung’s Smart Hub portal. Users will also have to sign up for the service, which includes paying a $9.99 monthly fee.
“Samsung has been an innovator in 3D technology and a leader in 3D television sales,” says Chris Yewdall, CEO of parent company DDD. “We’re excited to expand our Yabazam 3D subscription service to a brand that appreciates 3D and to its customers who have shown great interest in watching compelling 3D entertainment in the comfort of their living rooms.”
If you’re outside of the U.S., you can stream Yabazam on a pay-per-view basis. Yabazam says that the 3D app has been downloaded over 260,000 times to date and currently averages 2,000 3D movie-viewing sessions per day.
