Microsoft has a new marketing plan: low-low prices for all!
They’ve dropped the price on the 20GB Xbox 360. The console, which previously sold for $349, is now going for $299. It’s still not quite Wii prices, but it’s slightly more enticing than the PS3’s $400 price tag.
Of course, that’s assuming that you don’t want Blu-ray.
If you don’t want to drop full price for a PS3, but feel like spending that extra 50, the company is also planning to release a new 60GB model next month.
The announcement is breaking the seal on the flood of gaming news expected from this week’s E3 show.
Rumors have been swirling about the PS3 as well—that we won’t expect to see any price cuts. Sony recently displayed sales numbers that show that the company has been taking a hit on the PS3, to the tune of $3.3 billion.
