The rumored alliance between Microsoft and Netflix is now official.
Under the agreement announced earlier today at the E3 gaming conference, Xbox 360 users will gain access to the 10,000 Netflix movies and TV shows via their gaming console.
The service will be available this fall. It’s expected to launch as a software upgrade for the Xbox 360. And there will be no extra cost provided you are a Netflix and Xbox 360 Live Gold member.
Earlier in the day, Microsoft announced a $50 price drop for the 20GB Xbox 360 and plans to release a 60GB model in August.
Information from the Associated Press and Reuters was used in this report.
