Xantech just announced the “new” XTR39 remote, but it looks just like the one we’ve been seeing for about a year now.

In case you missed all of the hoopla, the XTR39 has a 3.9-inch LCD touchscreen and a control wheel that makes it look an awful lot like an iPod. However, we’ve never seen an iPod that includes 10,000 IR control codes—at least not yet.

With all of those codes, it’s pretty safe to say that this remote will work with just about any A/V product, as well as many lighting and other home systems.

The wheel allows you to whip through all kinds of control options, and the company says that the button layout can be customized.

Also, supposedly setup is a breeze, but they do recommend that an installer does it via their Dragon 2.1 software. One thing they aren’t saying: How much it costs. Newegg.com has it for $500—about half of what we saw when it was first announced.
