We’re seeing more components slipping HDBaseT support into its products. The latest is Wyrestorm, with its new AMP-001-010. The company just started shipping this HDBaseT (HDBT) D Class digital audio amplifier.
The hook on this component is that it combines all sorts of goodies, including HDMI, HDBT and local amplification.
According to Wyrestorm, the AMP-001-010 digital amplifier was engineered to save time and money by eliminating the need for additional AV receivers, distribution amps, numerous gadgets and converters. It can actually extract stereo audio from a digital signal within the HDBT signal and amplify it locally. That basically removes the need to mix digital and analog formats, add multiroom amps or other costs and components.
Other features include fully integrated IR or RS-232 control, ARC (Audio Return Channel), and a 3.5mm auxiliary audio jack. For larger installs, users can opt for up to seven AMPs on one network.
“Our AMP is the world’s first all-in-one HDBaseT extender and digital amplification solution to offer integrators the utmost in flexibility for any and all distributed AV installations,” said Derek Hulbert, CEO of Wyrestorm. “Only Wyrestorm’s AMP-001-010 successfully combines, simplifies, and improves the relationship between HDMI and HDBT and stereo audio. By combining the benefits of HDBT with some creative, proprietary engineering in the AMP-001-010, we are able to deliver the ultimate one-box solution for our customers. Virtually no system that requires total HD audio and video distribution -no matter how large or small-is outside its reach.”
Wyrestorm is shipping the AMP-001-010 now, with an MSRP of $799. The new component is also compatible with the company’s new EX-1UTP-IR-70/100 extenders and HDBaseT matrices.
