Audiophile favorite Woo Audio has started taking orders for its latest product. The WA7 “Fireflies” Amp/DAC is a super-cool little cube, packing in a Class-A vacuum tube headphone amplifier with a 32-Bit, 192K USB Digital-to-Analog Converter.

CNET’s Steve Guttenberg recently took a nice peek at the product. “The Woo Audio WA7 Fireflies is one of the most beautiful audio products I’ve ever used,” he said. That’s some seriously high praise!

He isn’t kidding, either. This is a very pretty product, with an all-aluminum chassis that has no visible screws and those 6C45 tubes peeking out of the top. Other features include a linear external power supply for amplification circuitries, a custom-built toroidal power transformer, and multi-layer military grade PCBs.

The WA7 also has dedicated jacks for full-sized headphones and those minis. It also has an RCA connector that can be used as an input or a D-A output, and in/out signals that are selectable.

Woo Audio has put a $799 pre-order price on the WA7 “Fireflies” Amp/DAC, with plans to ship by the end of February. Once that happens, you can expect the price to go up another $200.
