BenQ’s Joybee GP1 Mini projector fits easily in your hand

If you didn’t think there was room in your home for a big-screen projector, think again.

Smaller-footprint projectors are becoming more and more popular, thanks to their portability, ease of use and ability to project quality images without a dedicated projection screen.

Case in point: BenQ’s Joybee GP1 Mini LED projector. It’s not quite a true “pocket” projector, but it only weighs a couple of pounds and after setting it up you can get quality images up to around 80 diagonal images.

You can sign up to enter to win one of these BenQ projectors at www.electronichouse.com/sweepstakes.

The LED illumination means you don’t have to worry about any lamp replacement because it’ll last thousands of hours, and also fires up in an instant.

No, you’re not going to get 1080p full HD images with this little wonder, but its 858x600 SVGA resolution can down-res 720p and 1080i signals, and it accepts component video signals from a D-Sub 15-pin connector. If you’ve got lots of hard-drive stored videos, you can also pop ‘em onto a USB thumb drive and pop that into the projector.

There’s even a built-in 2W speaker so if you’re setting up in the kids room you don’t need to attach to a receiver.

The projector also has selections to deal with different wall colors as backgrounds. It’s a $499 model, but you can enter to win one by clicking here to register.
