What’s better than getting your sweat on with your Wii Fit?
Knowing that the American Heart Association (AHA) thinks that it’s a good idea.
Nintendo and the AHA announced Monday that they have partnered to promote active lifestyles and play with the help of the Wii and Wii Fit hardware.
This isn’t just a branding push. Not only will the AHA be officially endorsing the Wii console, Wii Fit and Wii Sports Resort (with an AHA logo being brandished starting this summer), but Nintendo is organizing a summit gathering of the medical community to tackle the issues of child obesity and physical activity.
The “active play” initiative is a focal point of the joint venture. The AHA recommends half an hour of vigorous activity per day to ensure healthy living. The AHA also says Americans spend more than eight hours a day sitting down. The AHA and Nintendo will together be promoting an active lifestyle through the new activeplaynow.com website.
