Nintendo Wii owners beware: about 220,000 Psyclone Essentials and React Wii 4-dock battery recharging stations are being recalled.
Apparently the products are causing batteries to overheat, burning people or acting as a fire hazard.
So far there have been six reports of overheating and two hand burns. If you own one of these docking stations with serial numbers PSE6501 or RT530, call 888-344-4702 for information on how to get a replacement.
Here’s what Psyclone has to say:
At Psyclone, we take great pride in providing our customers with products that are reputable, safe, and convenient; we therefore take product safety very seriously. We regret to inform you that we are voluntarily recalling our Wii 4-Dock Recharge Station (also sold under the React brand) due to an overheating problem that has, in a few very rare instances, caused batteries to short circuit.
If you purchased a Wii 4-Dock Recharge Station sold under the Psyclone or React brand names with serial numbers PSE6501 or RT530, please contact us to participate in this recall.
Thank you for purchasing a Psyclone or React brand Wii 4-Dock Recharge Station. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this voluntary recall may cause you. We appreciate your business.
The Psyclone Essentials stations were sold at Target, Toys “R” Us and Amazon. The React stations were sold at Best Buy.
