It’s not good enough to just back up digital files (you do that right??). You also need to be in touch with those files at all times.
Western Digital is a familiar name for both needs. However, the company’s new My Book Live drive promises the fastest delivery from a 1TB or 2TB external drive. So yeah, now you really have no excuse.
The My Book Live boasts transfer speeds up to 100 Mbps, more than triple the speed of traditional USB 2.0 drives and at least double the speeds of other network drives in its class.
However, this latest device doesn’t just store and stream its own content. It throws in a lot of other possibilities, via support for Apple’s Time Machine and an integrated DLNA-compatible media server that can stream photos, videos, and audio through a variety of devices such as the WD TV Live Plus HD, Xbox 360, Blu-ray players, PS3, and more. Users can also snag content from iTunes, as well as content on an iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, all through the WD Photos application.
Perfect for Mac and PC users, the WD My Book Live will run you $169.99 for the 1TB version, with 2TB costing $229.99.
