Wal-Mart Adding CE Services?
The mega-retailer may soon offer installs and repair on its roster.

Electronics has been a growing area for Wal-Mart over the years.

Will Wal-Mart’s rollback prices include service with a smile?

MarketWatch is reporting that Wal-Mart might start offering electronics repair, similar to (and in direct competition with) Best Buy’s Geek Squad.

Electronics has been a huge moneymaker for Wal-Mart, so adding service could be a key growth area.

As part of the plan, the company will transform one of its Sam’s Club stores in Houston to a Sam’s Club Business Center, targeting small business customers. I wonder if you’ll still be able to get a 2-gallon tub of pudding while making copies and restocking the supply cabinet.

Doug McMillon, president and CEO of Sam’s Club, says that if things go well, they will transform other stores.

Do you think Wal-Mart could give the Geek Squad a run for your money? Also, for those small business owners out there: Do you or would you do your shopping at Sam’s Club?

Currently, half of Sam’s Club’s business comes from commercial businesses. There’s no word on when and where Wal-Mart might add install services.

There is really no way for Walmart to compete with Geek Squad.  That is a disaster waiting to happen.  It will be FireDog but even worse.  They would never even see the light of success, especially with the ignorant people that they hire.  The chance of lost of broken customer units would be astronomical.  Walmart save your money and peoples patience and stay away. It may actually become a downfall in your business.

That thought don’t inspire me…
We all ll know Wal-mart is the King of throw away stuff.
How much have bought there that actually lasted more then a very short time. Centernily not their branded products.
So buying their branded service is silly.. I’d figure out how to do myself before I’d pay them to do it for me,
Their customer service is take the return and smile, don’t let the customer make a fuss in the store, thats the last thing they want.,, So they’ll eat before they fight about weather your right or wrong,  So how you going to make them fix a bad installation, or prove they messed it up in the first place?

Well, back to our regularly schedule sale….

Thanks! I need a good laugh today…

A troop of monkeys could compete with Geek Squad.. (most, not all of them anyway).
