Pop goes the weasel? Actually, pop goes the 110-inch projection screen, thanks to a new cabinet solution from Vutec Corporation.

The company is introducing a new addition to its line of screen concealment solutions—handcrafted designer cabinets for its Retracta-Vu Pro model screens, which it will show at next week’s CEDIA Expo 2008.

The cabinets will be available in standard sizes to house 92-, 103- or 110-inch diagonal screens. You’ll be able to sit comfortably on your couch or theater chair, press a button on the remote and bingo, the screen will raise or drop.

The screen is internally tensioned Vu-Flex-Pro fabric, and it interfaces with low-voltage, IR and RF remote controls. If you need to go larger or smaller than the standard sizes, Vutec can also customize the cabinet for you—hey, those Retracta-Vu Pro screens are available all the way up to 300 diagonal inches.

There’s storage capacity and provisions for built-in speakers, so you don’t even have to worry about other electronics taking up space in whatever room you put the cabinet in—sleek and functional, and a great excuse to get a screen.

Cool idea. Not sold on the grey cabinet doors, but I’m sure that’s all customizable.

I suppose if you have to ask how much, you can’t afford it…?
