The Vudu XL will have five times more storage than the original model, which currently costs $399.
Vudu just announced (via Gizmodo) its second-gen box, the Vudu XL. They are super-sizing the storage to 500 standard-def movies, but what really stands out is its super-sized price: $999.
Considering that the VOD set-top box hasn’t exactly set the world ablaze, will this new steep price add fuel to fire up consumers?
Vudu’s current box holds about 100 hours of standard-def content for $399.
The new storage should come in handy when 70 new high-def movies hit the service later this month. Expect more to be available soon—hey, I hope so!
