Earlier this year, Netflix made the announcement that select manufacturers would start featuring a Netflix button right on their remote controls. Not to be outdone, competing service VUDU will also be getting its own button.
This button is pretty much the same thing, except it will provide one-touch access to the subscription-free, video-on-demand service VUDU. Also, it is currently a VIZIO exclusive, available on select HDTVs, Blu-ray players and media players.
To start, the button will be featured on remotes packaged with the E3D420VX and E3D470VX LCD 3D TVs; the M320SR, M420SR, M420SV, M460SR, M470SV, and M550SV LED HDTVs; and the VBR122 and VBR133 Blu-ray players.
VUDU currently offers a library of more than 20,000 blockbusters, Hollywood classics and independent films—many in HD or the company’s own HDX HD format. Earlier this month, the streaming service announced the addition of TV shows to its lineup.
