Vudu has been getting good buzz—and now they’ve got some fightin’ words for the high-def DVD format war.

Gizmodo says that Vudu will soon offer owners of the video-on-demand box high-def copies of “The Bourne Identity” and “The Bourne Supremacy,” as well as the offer to own an HD copy of “The Bourne Ultimatum.”

Aside from pushing the Matt Damon trilogy, the freebies and the semi-steep $25 price for the “Ultimatum” download, the real news here is that we have a high-def offering without a single mention of Blu-ray or HD DVD. Vudu would like to soon see that become a regular thing.

The current Vudu box offers about 5,000 movies for a 24-hour viewing period, for $2 to $4 each.

Vudu owners can claim their free movies starting November 23. “The Bourne Ultimatum” will be available on Vudu starting December 11.
