Vizio has teamed with San Diego’s LaDainian Tomlinson
Plasma and LCD TV manufacturer Vizio scored points with consumers looking for value and performance in an HDTV without hurting their bank accounts. The company recently scored a touchdown of its own, signing on San Diego Chargers MVP running back LaDainian Tomlinson to an endorsement deal.
Tomlinson, coming off his MVP year in which he set the single-season touchdown record, will do TV, radio, print and online ads, as well as personal appearances for Vizio, whose products include the $1,499 VP50HDTV 50-inch plasma and $1,699 full 1080p GV47LF 47-inch LCD.
Tomlinson will also help Vizio dedicate its “Vizio Educational Centers” to non-profit organizations that use HDTV programming for educational purposes.
Pitching electronics products is nothing new to NFL players—Peyton Manning may have set a record for TV commercial appearances last year, and we know how his season ended.
