VIZIO Rocks 103dB with New 54” 3.0 Home Theater Soundbar
The latest speaker model promises big sound for HDTVs 55 inches and up.
November 26, 2013 by Rachel Cericola

A lot of people have a nice HDTV. (It’s true!) However, most of those TVs don’t sound all that great. (Sadly, this is also true.) This year, give the gift of good sound. VIZIO is helping to make that possible, with a brand-new soundbar release.

The company just announced the VIZIO 54” 3.0 Home Theater Soundbar. Designed to complement TVs 55 inches and up, this model is the latest in VIZIO’s acclaimed soundbar lineup.

The 54” 3.0 soundbar doesn’t pack the same punch as a full set of speakers. However, it should fill the room with plenty of sound, thanks to three channels and an integrated deep bass module. This configuration boasts greater separation between the left and right channels and promises 103dB of crystal-clear, immersive sound.

VIZIO has given this release Dolby Digital and DTS 3.0 Channel decoders, as well as DTS audio enhancement technologies. It also features support for Bluetooth aptX technology, so users can stream music to the speaker wirelessly from any smartphone, tablet or other compatible device.

“As more and more consumers upgrade their living rooms with larger big screens, the audio experience also needs to step up accordingly,” said Matt McRae, VIZIO’s chief technology officer. “The 54” 3.0 configuration features everything consumers need to pair their high-performance big screen with an immersive, room-filling audio experience, all in a beautifully simple design that sets up quickly and easily.”

VIZIO says that the 54” 3.0 soundbar was designed to match the company’s M-Series Razor LED smart TV collection. However, it could be paired with any larger TV set. The 54” 3.0 Home Theater Soundbar comes packing all of the necessary cables (including HDMI!) to set the speaker up in minutes. It’s selling now, with an MSRP of $299.99.
