VIZIO Launches New M-Series LED Smart TVs with Streaming Apps and Keyboard Remote
New 1080p TVs from VIZIO are slimmer and have improved LED backlighting.

VIZIO is one of the most popular TV brands in the US, so when the company launches a bunch of new products, smart TV buyers pay attention. This week VIZIO announced their M-Series line of LED LCD based smart HDTVS, which are stuffed with an assortment of apps, connectivity options and a nice-looking designs.

The VIZIO M-Series TVs (except for the 80-inch model) are all full-array LED backlit, not edge lit TVs. The biggest models in the line include 36 active LED zones. More backlit LED zones tends to mean better local dimming performance and better contrast. VIZIO says the new M-series TVs offer improved brightness uniformity and higher contrast than last year’s models. Motion clarity is said to also have been improved.

All of the VIZIO TVs in the M-series are 1080p resolution—no 4K Ultra HD TVs here.

All TVs in the series (in sizes from 32-inches to 80-inches) include built-in Wi-Fi and a suite of online services called VIZIO Internet Apps Plus including the most popular music and video streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, iHeartRadio, VUDU, YouTube and Spotify. Sharing between smart phone or tablet and a VIZIO TV is also built-in for that second screen experience. A remote with a built-in QWERTY keyboard is included to make using online features easier.

VIZIO was thinking about design as well as performance; the M-Series bezels measure only 8mm, 20 percent slimmer than last year’s models.
