It's not a dream: For one day only, you can become the proud owner of a huge plasma for under $1,000.

Get your elbow and kneepads ready—Black Friday is coming. Usually I would draw the shades and steer clear of anything shopping related on such a day, but Vizio’s announcement of cheap deals on big TVs makes me want to dive right into the holiday frenzy.

Starting Friday, November 24, your local Costco will have two 42-inch plasmas—the VP42HDTV and the P42HDTV—for a mere $999.99. There aren’t any announced specs on the VP42HDTV, but the P42HDTV boasts a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, an integrated tuner, and a resolution of 1366 x 768. I’m assuming since the screen sizes and prices are similar, the specs might not be too far off.

You can also save $300 on the 50-inch P50HDTV at Circuit City, but the MSRP wasn’t announced, so who knows if it’s a good deal. It might be worth a call though.

There are a slew of other Black Friday TV deals. Borrow someone’s pickup and check out TVPredictions.com for more information.
