The Pro8520HD has a full 1080p image.
ViewSonic is eyeing the high-end market with two of its newest projectors. The latest additions to the Pro8 line have some of the perks that you’d look for in a new projector, but at very affordable prices.
The new Pro8600 has 6,000 lumens and an XGA 1024-by-768 native resolution, while the Pro8520HD has 5,000 ANSI lumens and a full 1080p image. Both DLP models also have BrilliantColor, a 15,000:1 contrast ratio and DLP Link 3D-ready technology.
Each one works well in the existing Electronic House, via Crestron RoomView/AMX and PJ-Link management software. Other features include the option to display up to four different images on one screen, a .5x optical zoom lens, and built-in 20-watt speakers. Also, these models offer wireless connectivity, via the optional WPD-100 USB adapter.
Speaking of connectivity, each projector has RGB, S-Video, RJ-45 and USB options, as well as HDMI inputs (two for the Pro8520HD).
ViewSonic will start selling the Pro8520HD and the Pro8600 later this month for $2,099 and $1,979, respectively. Both Pro8 series models come with a three-year limited parts and labor and one-year lamp warranties along with ViewSonic’s Express Exchange Service.
