Don’t forget about projection when it comes to the whole 3D trend.
The latest offering to get you ready for Monsters vs. Aliens or Avatar on 3D Blu-ray is an affordable 3D-ready projector from ViewSonic, the PJD6531w.
It’s a DLP model featuring the latest Texas Instruments DLP Link technology as well as Nvidia’s 3D-vision technology to deliver what the company says is projection optimized for 2D and 3D performance.
ViewSonic says the projector can work for commercial or home theater applications, with its native 1280x800 WXGA resolution able to support 720p and 1080 formats. It delivers 3,000 lumens, 3,200:1 contrast and 120Hz.
It could also work well as even a secondary room projector for your home. An Eco Mode extends lamp life to 6,000 hours, and there are integrated 10W speakers so perhaps the kids playroom could be filled with wall-projected Pixar movies sans receiver and speakers. Plus it’s only $799 so you’re not sinking an entire theater budget.
