We told you that Android might be the big surprise at CEDIA Expo 2010. Now we have word from Touch Panel Control that it will demonstrate an AMX app for Android at the AMX booth.
Touch Panel Control, a third-party developer for AMX control systems, already has a line of TPControl apps for the iPad and iPhone. The software can program AMX systems as usual, and then turn them into iOS apps at the press of a button.
“We believe that the availability of this application on the Android platform will further empower the AMX dealer community and enable them to offer cost-effective solutions to a much larger user base,” says Ben Flux, operations director for Touch Panel Control.
A controlled beta launch is scheduled for after the event, with the product planned to be made widely available by the end of 2010. The Android app will be demonstrated at the AMX booth during CEDIA Expo.
Touch Panel Control demonstrates AMX’s standard demo file “working flawlessly” on an Android device.
