VidaBox has launched its RoomClient: SE Media Server, a Vista-based system with enough storage for more than 220 DVDs and 900 hours of TV.
The entry-level server stores content for on-demand access via an on-screen interface. It automatically downloads cover art for movies and music and offers 1080p upscaling, as well as full Dolby Digital and DTS audio.
Clients can add other VidaBox extenders to the RoomClient: SE for use as a multiroom A/V system. The RoomClient: SE is compatible with IPTV and other Web-based media, as well as third-part applications, expanding the choices of content available to the client.
RoomClient: SE doesn’t support Blu-ray out of the box. There are upgrades and extenders, however, that integrators can add for Blu-ray and more storage.
“Integrators and tech-savvy customers can even add support for Netflix’s ‘Watch Now’ feature on our systems,” says VidaBox president Steven Cheung. “Media Center-based third-party apps like these allow clients to access and choose from thousands of movies instantly.
The VidaBox RoomClient:SE is now shipping. MSRP: $2,248
