The Techno-Gurus might be coming to a neighborhood near you. That’s the name given to the tech-experts (Brian, Lloyd, and Yue) sent by “MyHome 2.0” - the tech-heavy reality show - to upgrade a lucky home to 21st-century status. So far five lucky families have been given a tech makeover, and episodes are viewable on the website. Folks in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh can watch the show on TV, too.
The show premise is pretty straight-forward and cool. Needy families (as in, they need some tech - STAT!) are graced by the presence of the Techno-Gurus, who proceed to turn the house from “obsolete to OMG!” Each makeover is finalized with a massive block-party celebration. Makes for entertaining viewing, and helps get the word out on FiOS (fiber optic service), which is slowly crawling to doorsteps (ok, curbs) across the country.
I’d apply to get a makeover, but I’m pretty sure you need to have access to Verizon FiOS. I don’t, and if I did, I’d probably already be a subscriber. Maybe I’ll just fly to one of the block-parties instead.
