Got any plans this weekend? If you have a 3D TV and FiOS TV, you might want to consider hanging around the house for a while.
Verizon just announced plans to offer FiOS TV customers a treat: Major League Baseball in 3D. The offer is for customers in New York and northern New Jersey, via the YES Network. All you will need is a 3D TV set, 3D glasses and an HD set-top box.
The two 3D events will be part of the Yankees/Mariners series, with games running on Saturday, July 10 at 10:00 p.m. (EST) and Sunday, July 11 at 4:00 p.m. (EST)
“The YES Network’s 3D offering is just the latest way in which Verizon continues to enhance the value that FiOS TV offers today’s consumer, with the best in HD entertainment, industry-leading video on demand, and interactive applications that cable can’t match,” said Terry Denson, VP of content strategy and acquisition for Verizon. “We are committed to bringing our customers a consistently high-quality TV experience with the best programming available over the country’s only all-fiber network. And there’s so much more yet to come, with new programming, applications and other enhancements that only FiOS can deliver.”
In case you are too giddy with excitement, you can find the YES Network on channel 575. Verizon is hoping this is just one of many 3D broadcasts. The service provider is hoping to launch some type of 3D offering this winter.
