Vantage/Legrand Pushes New Touchscreens
Two new controllers can handle lighting, as well as home theater and digital music systems.
August 11, 2008 | by Rachel Cericola

Touchscreens are not just made to just sit on a tabletop. Vantage/Legrand just announced a few new touchscreens, which add plenty of placement options.

First is the TPT650, a 6.5-inch in-wall mounted touchscreen. Designed to work with Vantage’s InFusion system, the unit features an Intel X-Scale processor, a Linux operating system, and personalization via simple drag-and-drop programming. It also boasts plenty of media center support, which allows users to access music, photos and more.

The TPT1210-1 kicks the existing TPT1210 up a notch. Vantage says it has more memory, a faster processor, and even a nicer look, which includes a charging pedestal mount.

“The amount of technology included in today’s luxury home has increased dramatically in the past few years,” said Vantage Marketing VP Andrew Wale. “Our new touchscreens not only offer a proven solution that provides the most effective way of interfacing with these complicated subsystems, they also allow infinite display personalization.”

Each unit can also be tapped—literally—to control home theater or digital music components. Ask your installer to set you up; you’ll need one to get either touchscreen.
