If you’re going to name your system “Total Control,” you’d better have options to back it up. URC is making that happen, adding another touchscreen into its Total Control whole-house control system. The new TKP-7000 is a 7-inch full-color touchscreen, which is now available.

The 7-incher has a resolution of 1024-by-600, full graphic feedback, and support for third-party devices. It’s designed to provide access to AV, lighting, temperature, security, and more. And if you want to add in some of URC’s cameras, you can even display live video right on the touchscreen.

Other features include a Shortcuts option, a time and weather module, and the ability to monitor every room or zone at once. There’s also a customizable status bar, so users can get a glimpse at information they consider to be most important, such as weather, climate, status, and more.

The TKP-7000 is wall-mountable and fits into a dual-gang opening. It can get power from a single Ethernet cable connected to a PoE (Power over Ethernet) router/switch or a PoE injector.

URC has priced the TKP-7000 at $849. It’s shipping to authorized dealers now.
