URC has added a two-way integration module for Sonos music players to its Total Control home automation system. The module, developed by Extra Vegetables and URC, is “ultra-fast” and works with current and past Sonos Zoneplayers and the Playbar soundbar.
Users can select all music services supported by Sonos, radio stations, music library, favorites and more. The solution provides speedy, full search on music library and services and delivers six presets (more may be added by programming).
Full control and feedback is available on URC Total Control keypads, remotes, touchscreens and apps including TKP-2000, TKP-7000, TRC-1280 and the TC Mobile App. Playlists and music stream tracks can be recalled from URC’s TKP-100 and TRC-780.
“Nothing says whole-house automation like two-way integration with full feedback,” says Cat Toomey, director of marketing for URC. “This year, URC has been keenly focused on adding modules that control a wide variety of popular products as per our dealer’s specific requests.”
“Extra Vegetables’ philosophy is to solve problems for installers and their customers,” says Jane Scotland, COO at Extra Vegetables. “Sonos is a product that enables dealers to easily provide whole-house audio and music services. We are delighted that URC’s Total Control now has the power to enable seamless control of Sonos in any custom installation.”
The module, which is already available for purchase, will be shown at the Extra Vegetables’ booth (#644) and the URC booth (#1731) during the annual CEDIA Expo later this month in Denver.
