There are a lot of iPod docks out there, but very few allow them to dock your butt right next to your portable. UK furniture retailer CSL is changing all of that, with the introduction of the Sound Sofa.
The Sound Sofa comes in a variety of colors and fabrics. It’s also available in different combinations, so you can have a corner piece, a double sofa, two single-seat armchairs, or a combination piece.
However, it’s what’s inside the sofa that makes it unique. Whatever the configuration, the Sound Sofa gets its sound from an iPod dock, Bluetooth support, a USB port, an SD card slot, speakers, and even a subwoofer.
“We wanted to create a modern and most importantly affordable fabric sofa which offers more than just comfort,” said Jason Tyldesley, CSL’s managing director. “This stylish sofa is perfect for music lovers and is a great all-in-one entertainment system but effectively only costs the price of a great value corner group sofa.”
While it doesn’t look like the Sound Sofa is available anywhere in the U.S., it is currently selling in the UK. If you’re in that part of the world and in the market for a new sofa, the Sound Sofa starts at £949 (about $1,500 U.S.).
