Turtle Beach is really well known for its many gaming headsets. Now the company is turning its focus to users looking for a better way to listen to Apple products.
The company just launched the iSeries of high-end media headsets. Both the wireless surround sound i60 and the wireless amplified stereo i30 are specifically designed for use with the Mac and other iOS products.
Both models have a similar design, which includes a leather headband and leather-covered memory foam, noise-isolating ear cups. Each one also has a built-in remote for use with the Mac, the iPhone and the iPad. That feature includes two boom-less microphones, so you can make and take calls, as well as interact with Siri.
The cream of the crop is the i60. It’s a Wi-Fi-enabled headset with fingertip audio and preset control, as well as 7.1 DTS surround sound with adjustable speaker angles and EQ presets. It even has a programmable digital signal processor (DSP) and the option to be paired with up to eight Bluetooth devices. According to Turtle Beach, the i60 is also the only headset that can be connected to a Mac and iOS simultaneously, so you can take calls while gaming or listening to music.
The i30 drops a few of the above features. This model is really all about the Bluetooth, but also includes interesting perks such as “voice morphing” and active noise cancellation.
Turtle Beach is selling both headsets now. The i60 has an MSRP of $399.99, with the i30 priced $100 cheaper.
