The Transport combines sleep with a set of Anthony Gallo speakers and a subwoofer.
The new Transport Pod Bed is about to take you on a journey through a good night’s sleep.
Alberto Frias has designed the funky, pricey ($16,000), partially enclosed bed and thrown in a set of Anthony Gallo‘s four-inch Nucleus Micro speakers and a 240-watt MPS subwoofer.
“As a graduate student working on my master’s thesis in architecture, I focused my research on light, sound and space,” states Frias. “I became fascinated with the trance-like effect one gets from meditating upon the crashing ocean waves or when staring at the clear blue sky. I then became determined to create an environment that would recall that heightened state of awareness.”
Sounds like he might have minored in Pink Floyd as well, since this temperature-controlled waterbed surface (yes!) also has the ability to perform a crazy LED light show.
I’m all for this bed-a-rocking, but it looks like it would give me that enclosed-having-an-MRI feel. If you start to get claustrophobic, it can be integrated in with your iPod, computer or other source that will help you get comfortably numb.
The Transport is available in two sizes: six and eight feet in diameter.
