What would you do without the magic of WiFi? Most likely, you’d never leave the house. After all, being able to take all of those cool gadgets on the go isn’t just wonderful; sometimes, it’s an actual necessity. Sadly, the wireless network is not infinite. In fact, sometimes it can’t even go out to your backyard.
TP-Link is hoping to stretch it out a little bit, with its new AC750 WiFi Range Extender RE210. The hook on the RE210 is that it has external antennas to boost WiFi signals and even deliver better speeds. That basically means that you should be able to take some of those cool gadgets into spots where they’ve never worked before—and have them work well.
Designed to work with any standard WiFi router, the RE210 boasts dual 5GHz (433Mbps) and 2.4GHz (300Mbps) bands and speeds up to 750Mbps. That means you should be able to have more cool gadgets on the network simultaneously, even in those hard-to-reach areas. It also has a high-speed mode, so you can combine the bandwidth of the 5GHz and 2.4GHz channel bands for one super-speedy connection. Another perk is that the RE210 is backwards-compatible, so it will work with 802.11 b/g/n.
Other features include a gigabit Ethernet port, a color-changing intelligent signal indicator light to measure the WiFi strength in certain areas, and a compact, wall-mounted design. According to TP-Link, the RE210 also offers safe, one-button encryption.
“With the proliferation of laptops, smartphones, tablets and other connected devices in today’s home, dependable wireless Internet is necessary,” said Lewis Wu, executive vice president of TP-Link USA. “The AC750 WiFi Range Extender RE210 provides a stronger WiFi signal, expanding coverage to every corner of the home and offering an Ethernet port that helps keep the entire family connected at gigabit speeds.”
TP-Link is selling the AC750 WiFi Range Extender RE210 now, priced at $99.99. (Available on Amazon)
