Combining two of the hottest TV trends—but straying from the big 3D trend—the UX600 from Toshiba hits the daily double as both an LED TV and Net TV.

It also provides that Net access conveniently with an included WiFi adapter to facilitate the setup and installation.

From there, viewers can tap into Vudu on-demand movies, YouTube, social networking sites Facebook and Twitter, slideshow apps Flickr and Picasa, Pandora personalized radio and news services such as the New York Times, Associated Press and National Weather. You can even customize a CNN-like “Ticker” at the bottom of the screen to keep up with the latest news or Twitter updates.

As we mentioned, there’s no 3D-readiness mentioned by the company, but Toshiba’s UX600 should still deliver plenty of detail and perceived depth thanks to specs like the 3,000,000:1 dynamic contrast and the AutoView and DynaLight technologies that adjust the LED backlighting to better adapt the picture to the room’s lighting conditions.

Other features of note include:

  • Air Lagoon design and depth of less than 2 inches
  • Photo Frame capability for automatic slideshow mode
  • Gaming Mode for optimum screen sync with gaming controllers
  • ClearFrame 120Hz refresh to reduce motion blur
  • Energy Star 4.0 compliance.

SRP on the models, which are available this month in 40-, 46- and 55-inch sizes, is $1,399, $1,699 and $2,499, respectively.
