Remember when Toshiba laughed off that whole Blu-ray thing? Now it seems to be jumping into Blu-ray with both feet. It announced plans to start shipping the company’s first Blu-ray 3D player, the BDX3000.

Of course, the player has 3D playback. However, since there aren’t a ton of Blu-ray 3D titles out right now, there’s plenty of other content to be had with this slick-looking unit.

First up, it does deliver full HD Blu-ray playback. That means any of your existing Blu-rays will play very nicely on this unit. Secondly, it also offers streaming content, which can be accessed via the player’s built-in WiFi support. That’s a nice touch, and means you can get Netflix, Blockbuster On Demand, VUDU and Pandora, all through the player, at the touch of a button. (Some subscription fees may apply.)

Toshiba is pushing the BDX3000 as a nice complement for the WX800 Cinema Series 3D LED HDTV, as well as Toshiba’s own 3D glasses. Other features on the player include built-in decoding of the latest HD audio formats, a USB port and an SD/SDHC card slot.

Expect the BDX3000 to start selling this month for around $249.99.
