Toshiba Planning Glasses-Free 3D TV in 2010
Not many details are available, but Toshiba is reportedly readying three models for viewing 3D without the glasses.

One major gripe about 3D TV is definitely the pricey, sometimes itchy 3D glasses.

Toshiba is hoping to make that a non-issue, with a new glasses-free 3D TV.

According to the AFP, that 3D TV could come as early as the end of this year. Toshiba is planning to unveil three models of the TV.

Don’t get too excited, though; the cost to go without glasses in your own home could end up being a few thousand dollars.

Despite showing off glasses-free displays earlier this year, Toshiba has not released any details about any of the models. I’m guessing they will hit Japan before we see anything similar on retail shelves anywhere else.
