Hopefully you already have a decent Blu-ray collection, because there isn’t a whole lot new to choose from this week. We don’t know the entire schedule for the year, but from what we’re guessing this will be a strong candidate for weakest release date of 2010.

Oh well. Horror fans may be excited, at least. While they’re anticipating (or rolling their eyes) at the impending theatrical release of the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, Wes Craven’s original 1984 movie that unleashed Freddy Krueger on theater-goers is out on high-def Blu-ray now.

We’re sure Freddy’s even scarier in HD, and with DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 surround sound you’ll certainly be on the edge of your seat. Aspect ratio is 1.78:1, so it’ll fill all of your big screen. Reviewers on Blu-ray.com say the release is a big video improvement over the standard definition version.

If you’re looking for a CinemaScope 2.35:1 aspect ratio flick to fill your superwide anamorphic lens-fed screen, Apollo 13 comes out as a 15th anniversary release. Nothing like some intense blastoff scenes to rock your theater. It also delivers a DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack, authored in 5.1 surround.

Here’s the full release schedule for this week, courtesy of Blu-ray.com:
Africa’s Lost Eden
Apollo 13
Gone with the Wind (Scarlett edition)
Living Landscape: Four Seasons
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Pirate Radio
The Slammin’ Salmon
