After I watch “Bionic Woman” every week, I usually get the urge to rock out. No, seriously; maybe it’s a girl power thing. Now TiVo will offer me instant gratification, providing my recorded TV programming, with an encore of the entire Rhapsody music catalog.

The service is available right through that familiar and oh-so-addicting TiVo box. TiVo says it provides access to millions of songs and thousands of web radio stations. Even better, if you’ve TiVoToGo, you’ve got access to all of those songs anywhere you’ve got cell service.

“By adding music to our portfolio of broadband offerings, TiVo is the only universal entertainment provider in the living room,” said Tom Rogers, CEO and President of TiVo. “Our customers can not only navigate through hundreds of TV channels and thousands of movie downloads, they now have access to millions of songs all on their television set.”

Maybe they also want to compete, now that every cable and satellite provider seems to offer some type of digital recording device. All of that is fine and dandy, but herein lies the rub… it costs money. Can’t they just give me a little something extra to thank me for subscribing? Yeah, I know… and Santa and the Easter Bunny will deliver the good news.

However, does anyone need another monthly fee right now? If you’re a current TiVo user, you will get a free month of the service. After you get addicted, be prepared to cough up an extra $13 each month.
