Theta Digital is putting a little shine on its Casablanca III HD Music and Cinema Controller. The company just announced the release of a new digital output card for the component, dubbed the 12-Channel Digi-Out Card.
The company says that this upgrade should bring Casablanca III owners one step closer to the original signal. Specifically, the card can support AES/EBU digital output at signal rates up to 192kHz and 24-bit word depth in channel pairs (L/R, center/subwoofer, surround L/R, surround back L/R, subwoofers 2/3, and more).
It’s also ready for the future, since users can update channel assignments using the on-board programmable FPGA.
“By expanding the number of channels with digital routing, the new card opens a window for improved performance possible from the use of advanced outboard DACs like Theta Digital’s own Generation VIII Series 3,” said Dave Reich, Theta Digital’s chief engineer.
Theta says that the 12-Channel Digi-Out Card is available now, with an MSRP of $1,995. The Casablanca III HD Music and Cinema Controller is listed with an MSRP of $15,620.
