Sharper Image founder and former CEO Richard Thalheimer has moved on to gadget site RichardSolo.com. Now, The Wall Street Journal says that he’s moving onto a different home.
We know that The Sharper Image has a ton of cool tech-enhanced toys. So why would the founder’s home be any different?
Thalheimer’s 7,750-square-foot home is located in San Francisco, California. Like the retail chain, it features enough technology to keep you busy for hours on end—as well as entertained.
One of the many tech perks includes touchscreens sprinkled throughout the house, which can access cameras, music and even automated shades. There’s also a total of nine flat-screen HDTVs.
After buying the house in 2002, Thalheimer spent three years remodeling the place. Now, he wants $15 million for the Mediterranean-style house, which has six bedrooms, six full bathrooms and one half-bathroom.
Other features include a pool, a Jacuzzi, a six-car garage, and a life-sized of C-3PO. The statue isn’t included in the purchase price, but is negotiable. For better look at some of the technology in this home, check out our slideshow.

I agree, Sharper Image products are junk and the house looks like a DIY setup as well. How many cheesy products can you fit into a small space?
This house reminds me of the sharper image products all right ... more emphasis on form than function, and when you look closely, the form isn’t all that well thought-out either.
Should TV manufacturers offer dumbed-down TVs that focus on image quality rather than apps?
Centralized home control and automation plus boatload of A/V options including dropdown theater screen revitalize 12K-square-foot home.

Say hello to home control in this high-tech palace, circa 2006.
Could not agree more. There was a time back in the 90’s when Sharper Image had cutting edge, quality products. Then they decided to go to cheap Chinese import junk. Guess that’s why they had to file bankrupcy in 2008!
