These days the electronic systems are migrating outdoors. Especially in areas where people can enjoy their outdoor spaces for a majority of the year, like California, Florida, the Southwest and Sunbelt. Professional installers are catering more to this, as are manufacturers—one installer, Criteria of Naples, FL, let us know about one of the big outdoor products they are installing, MirageVision’s recently improved 42”/47” Outdoor LCD TV.

As far as handling the elements, the MirageVision is pretty much bulletproof—it takes temperatures from -25 to 145 degrees Fahrenheit (so hey, enjoy it outside most of the year in Minnesota and Vermont, too) and withstands normal rain, sleet, snow, humidity and sunshine conditions, Criteria says.

Oh yeah, and the 47-inch model delivers images in full 1080p behind a an anti-glare front panel screen. There’s a waterproof cover as well to further protect the 42- and 47-inch models.

A modular option now features an audio/visual digital transmitter/receiver package to allow for wireless capabilities, Criteria says.

Criteria’s the exclusive MirageVision dealer in Broward County, FL, so check with your local dealers or online for details about grabbing this one. Go to www.criteriahifi.com for more about the installer, or to outdoortvsdirect.com, which lists the 42-inch version at $3,349 and the 47-incher for $3,949.
